Canada Thistle Control Evaluated

With its high temperature flow of steam, the X-Steam-inator terminates all above-ground plant growth in a matter of days. While research is needed to determine the longer term effect on perennial weeds like Canada thistle that have deep roots in the soil, initial indications are positive.

The first two photos below of a Canada thistle infestation below were taken on August 11, just a few days after a ten foot wide pass with the X-Steam-inator. Most of the thistles hit with the steam are already browned off.

The last two photos were taken September 14. The Canada thistle is showing no signs of regrowth.

While each year is different and rainfall was minimal after the early August treatment, the X-Steam-inator had a lasting effect on the Canada thistle in this trial.
